Born in Argentina, Ricardo Moyano is the son of famous Argentinean writer Daniel Moyano. Ricardo was introduced to the guitar by his father; nurtured by a rich cultural and musical background, he took up the study of classical guitar at the music academy of his home-town at a tender age. Several years later, the young musician completed his brilliant studies at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and repeatedly won the first prize of some of France, Argentina and Portugal's most prestigious contests. After launching his artistic career, he moved to Paris to perfect his knowledge of Renaissance and Baroque music, but after hearing Marco Meloni, he took a break from his craft. This period of reflection lead him to specialise in the mastery of improvisation and the exploration of numerous musical styles. He remained in Paris for several years before embarking on an international career.
Ricardo Moyano spent several years in Istanbul, where he practiced his skills as a teacher and a concertist. Today, he lives in Spain. The different countries he visited have all contributed to shape his extraordinary music. Moyano has recorded more than thirty albums, both solo and with other renowned musicians. His knowledge of Baroque, classical and popular music (Argentinean, Spanish and Turkish), as well as his interest for improvised guitar music - jazz in particular - have honed the uniqueness of his style. His compositions are published by Editions ProLatinMusic, amongst others.
