Dominique Phillot

Dominique Phillot holds a virtuosity diploma from the Institut de Ribaupierre of the University of Lausanne, in Switzerland.

Dominique Phillot teaches guitar at the Fribourg music academy since 1981. In 1990, he created a class for advanced students at the Institut de Ribaupierre. Between 1990 and 1993, he perfected his skills with Jorge Cardoso and José Tomas in Spain.

He is a regular guest at prestigious guitar festivals and seminaries throughout the world: Guitarras del Mundo, Argentina, 1999 and 2004; Guitare du Monde, France, 1994 and 1998; Conservatorio Nacional Agustin Barrios, Paraguay, 1995; Sociedad Española de la Guitarra, Madrid, 2001; Arvika International Pedagogic Week, Sweden, 1988; International Guitar Festival, Stockholm, Sweden, 1988 and 1998; International Guitar Festival Fribourg, Switzerland, 1988; Avezzano International Guitar Festival, Italy, 2005; Festival Euro Arts Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, 2005.

During the past years, he has focussed on the work of post-romantic Spanish composers, Argentinean and Brazilian folklore, as well as Swiss contemporary music.

Since 2002, he is the instigator of a «Orient-Occident» («East-West») programme together with Egyptian oud player Hussein El Masry

Bernard Trinchan

Bernard Trinchan was born in Fribourg in 1953. At the age of 12, he began studying the euphonium. A student at the Fribourg music academy, he also took trombone lessons at the Swiss Jazz School of Berne.

In 1979, he left for the USA to work with trombone player, composer and conductor James Francis Mabry.

A jazz musician with the Lausanne Big Band, he recorded and performed with such artists as Kenny Werner, Charles Papasoff, Pascal Auberson, Georges Gruntz...

Bernard Trinchan also works in close collaboration with trombone player and composer Jean-François Bovard - initially with the Compagnie d'Eustache, and later on with the Bovard Orchestra.

In terms of classical music, Bernard Trinchan was a member of the Quatuor des cuivres de Fribourg and of the Collège des cuivres de Suisse Romande.

He cultivates the joys of chamber music with a tuba quartet and Spatters, a band featuring guitar, cello, oboe and euphonium.

He has just recorded an album with guitarist François Allaz's band «Les Cartographes».

Ravi Prasad

Ravi Prasad was born in Kerala, in southern India. He studied classical Indian music and singing at the Central Carnatic College of Madras.

Prasad is familiar with both sacred and folkloric music, and has performed with the most famous musicians of his country.

He settled down in France in 1985 and gained notoriety with his recitals of South Indian sacred songs, while playing in jazz, rock, ethnic and electronic bands with such musicians as Bénat Achiary, Bernard Lubat, André Minvielle, Dominique Regef, Pedro Soler, Talwyn Singh, Françoise Renard, Frédéric Norel, Denys Viollet...

He is also widely active in the field of theatre and dance, and not only creates but also performs in his shows.

Ravi Prasad's workshops in France and in Spain are centred on singing, music and the oral transmission of knowledge.
