Paco Serrano

Paco Serrano graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory (The Netherlands) in 1997. He teaches flamenco guitar at the Superior Music Academy of Cordoba and is a member of the flamenco guitar department of the Rotterdam Conservatorium as guest teacher.

Serrano has received the Bordón Minero award for guitar at the Concurso Nacional del Cante de las Minas en la Unión (Murcia); the Ramón Montoya award for concert guitar, and the Manolo de Huelva award for background guitar for vocals and dance at the thirteenth Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco in Cordoba.

He was a member of the jury at the Cordoba Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco on several occasions. Major European festivals have invited him to play as a concert performance professor:

  • Festival IN GUITAR à Dübendorf (Switzerland)
  • Festival du Mont de Marsan (France)
  • Festival International de la Guitare de Cordoue (Spain)
  • Viljandi Folk Music Festival (Estonia)
  • Festival International de la Guitare de Lagonegro (Italia)
  • Bath International Guitar Festival (England)
  • Internationales Gitarrenfestival Leverkusen (Germany)
  • Festival International de Guitare de Torrent (Spain)
  • Festival de Guitare de Nürtingen (Germany)

Serrano also is the creator of the audiovisual teaching method “La Guitarra de Paco Serrano” (Encuentro Productions, Zurich). He has also published two collections of scores, “Paco Serrano, Flamenco Guitar I and II”. He has contributed to several shows - such as “El Flamenco es Vida”, “Lances del Arenal”, and “Don Juan” - as a composer and musical director.

He has just brought out a highly personal album entitled “Mi Camino”. Paco Serrano has chosen his way, in which work is a never-ending process. He symbolises the Andalusian musician who filters all that surrounds him and transforms it into music. “Mi Camino” vibrates with the spirit of authentic Andalusian flamenco that carries us to the streets of Cordoba.
