Valeri Dimchev was born in Blagoevgrad in Bulgaria 38 years ago. In 1977 he was admitted to the popular music school in Shiroka Luka, then went to the Plovdiv Academy of Music where he learnt the 'tamboura' (Bulgar guitar).He then taught at the NHG music school of Blagoevgrad, between 1994 and 2000. Since then, he works for the Bulgarian PirinTV Channel.
His discography counts seven albums, made of personal compositions and traditional music. He regularly composes original music for TV programmes and films produced by the Bulgarian national television. He also has made many arrangements out of Bulgarian popular songs for several singers.
He played with bands like Acoustic, Etna, Enekk, Farmer's Market, Orfeus and Teodosii Spasov among others. He receivedmany prizes and honours.
The «Valeri Dimchev Trio» is composed of Desislava Dimcheva, singer, Valeri Dimchev playing the 'tamboura' and Drago Dimov playing the 'tarambouka' (percussions)
Their repertoire includes traditional and contemporary bulgarian music, accompanied with the songs and typical instrumentsof western and south-western parts of the country.
All members of the Trio are teachers and professional artists. Their music, traditional or creative, is deeply rooted in the melodic and rythmic Bulgarian tradition. Their purpose tends to blossom as performers, composers, adapters and to explore the possibilities offered by the typical Bulgarian instruments. They spent time with country people to improve their knowledge of folklore and test their professionalism.
