Born in Estepona (Spain), Ana Maria Fargas has shown an interest for the flamenco since earliest childhood. Playing with the «Pena Flamenca Band» has contributed to cultivate and develop this interest.
Her education in singing (cante) and the dramatic art led her through an artistic career which began with the 'opera flamenca' as «Cantaora» , then developed with several tours (Cante de las Minas Festival and performances incities like Dublin, Leeds, Paris, Istanbul, and in Marocco).
Ana Maria Fargas then participated as a solist to 'Suenos de Libertad' (conducted by Paco Javier Jimeno). Ana Maria Fargas combines contrast and passion working in other musical styles such as «Sacre». This led her to participate in the making of a CD. In Spain, she presents shows with the Chico Fargas Band, the «Canadu flamenco Band» and many more. Recently, she received the first prize at the «Cantes Festeros y Compas» (Festival de la Calasparra, Murcia).
At the moment, Ana gains satisfaction in participating in Festivals and folk events in Murcia (Andalusia) and in Estepona where she is now playing at the ILMO Theatre. Ana received several regional awards and hopes to produce her first solo CD using her personal approach in other styles.
