José Mendoza

From a very tender age, José Mendoza has been an autodidact charango player. In addition to this, he is also a fully-fledged guitarist, and now teaches at the Darius-Milhaud d'Antony Conservatory near Paris, as well as at the French National Instutute for Young Blind People. In addition to this, he is part of the Agustin Barrios quartet, which specializes in the interpretation of South American music.

Works such as «Nuestra Señora de la Paz», «Hijos del Sol» and «Cantuta de Dios» have earned him several distinctions.

José Mendoza has played at the Chant du monde féminin festival (Belgium), at the Rencontres de la Guitare d'Antony, at the Rencontres internationales de la Guitare de Vendôme (France), at the Guitarras del Mundo (Argentina), as well as at the Festival international de Guitarras en Concierto (Argentina).

He most frequently composes and arranges pieces for the charango, faithful to the tradition of the great masters of his instrument: Ernesto Cavour, Manco Nuñes and Cameo Valdivia.
